42. Second chances might only come around once – Part 1

I have known of Dennis for years. We have never worked together but he is a bit of a chip off the old block. He is actually quite funny but I’m funnier. He is the Brad Pitt to my Denzel, only he is richer but I am prettier. He is 6 foot tall and some change – and I’m going to wisely leave it there.

He is not going to tell a penguin that thinks it’s a cat that it’s a cat. What he might do instead is say “OK then let’s see you climb that wall then” and pull up a chair, with some popcorn, and sit back and watch. I never knew he had prostrate cancer until he approached me after the PC talk I did at work. I thought he might not be ready to share his story when I tentatively asked him if he was interested. “So how are you?”

It’s question that I am asked quite often in passing conversation. I smile and always reply along the lines of,

“I’m alright you know” or “I’m good, the recovery is long but it’s going in the right direction”

When people see me in person they comment that I look really well and some have even remarked that I have lost weight (I like those people even more). What people are really asking is,
